The Bourne Beat Blues Jam

Given the well known jamming proclivities of most of the band members, it was probably inevitable that we would end up running a jam - well here, at last, it is...

Held at the Bourne Beat Hotel in Priory Road, Bournemouth (near the BIC), home of a remarkable collection of music memorabilia, this jam will set out to be fun and entertaining for participants and audience alike.

It will provide a real opportunity for local musicians to meet up, find new band members, chew the fat and who knows what else?

Good equipment will be provided so just bring your guitar, bass, sticks, harp or whatever.

We'll be taking pictures, recording and videoing what goes on and will post it on the jam's own myspace page.

The important thing for us is to get players along to enjoy the night... see you there!

H was invited by blues maestro Robin Bibi to be the house bass player in the Robin Bibi Band for the Sunday afternoon Blues Jam at the White Horse. S, H and P all played at both the Saturday and Sunday jams to quite excellent receptions from the jam packed audience! Great weekend - looking forward to the next one in March.

Radio Exposure!

Phonic FM Bluesmeister Ian McKenzie has now played several of the tracks from our CD (see below) on his show on Wednesdays on Phonic FM. Excellent blues radio by the way, 6 - 8pm on Wednesdays, hosted by either Ian McKenzie or Julian Piper.

At Last...

We are pleased to say that our first ever CD can now be bought from us at any gig. Recorded in 2008 at Shelter Studios in Southampton and released on our very own Tar Barrel Records label, it contains 13 tracks and sounds fantastic to our ears!

The Riverside Blues Band, based in the New Forest evolved from family connections and local jamming.

Playing blues and r'n'b from a variety of sources, currently the band is a 4-piece We play in the New Forest, Southampton, Bournemouth, Poole, Romsey and elsewhere in both Hampshire and Dorset, UK - we are quite happy to travel for the right gig.
